Cotswolds Roadbook Rally

• spend the day with Rally Moto learning how to navigate with a roadbook like the Dakar riders do.

​itinerary

• 6:30am - 7am: meet at David's in Walton-on-Thames for a quick coffee

• 7am - 9am: travel from Surrey to Cheltenham, 83 miles via M40 and A40

• 9am: arrive at Old Prison Cafe (opens at 9am, planning to get a coffee to warm up) for signing on and to collect digital hire kit

• 9:30am: fit hire kit to bikes (takes about 5 - 10 minutes)

• 11am: first vehicles away - Approx 150km course, 2 minute intervals

• 2pm - 3pm:  debrief, feedback and results, end at Old Prison Cafe

• 3pm - 5pm: travel from Cheltenham to Surrey​

​

considerations

• the day is designed for adventure bikes on road tyres and will be all tarmac, around 60 miles.

• the Old Prison Cafe opens at 9am, if you go to their web site and subscribe you get a free coffee

• no point getting there before 9am, so need to time our departure to arrive between 9am and 9:30am

• the start location is 85 miles from David's home and will take around 1.5 -2 hours, most interesting route is probably the M40 and A40​​

• sunrise is 7:14am, sunset 5:18pm

• ​​the route from Pawel's practically goes past David's place, so could meet at David's, have an espresso and pit-stop, then ride to the Old Prison Cafe in one stint

• if we leave from home on full tanks we shouldn't need to fuel up again until after the event

• there are 30 people signed up for the event
